Simple Thoughts

Here are some of Lil'Foo's most recent thoughts/sayings....

Me: "Lil'Foo, Mama has a cold and I don't feel well"
Lil'Foo: "Oh, you frozen? Just shake the ice off, then you feel better"

Lil'Foo while on the way home from daycare, MiniFoo is "talking" and I am talking back to her...
Lil'Foo: "Mama, you not suppose to do that!"
Me: "Why not?"
Lil'Foo: "Only grown-ups can do that"
Me: "I'm not a grown-up?"
Lil'Foo: "No, you Mama"

In the Clinic while waiting for MiniFoo to get poked and prodded a bigger lady walks by....
Lil'Foo: "Mama, she's got a big belly!"
Me: "That's okay, Mama does too so we don't need to point it out."
If I had thought about this ahead of time and had myself prepared for something like this I would have and will do it now going forward. I will tell Lil'Foo that everyone is different and that's okay, we don't need to point everyone's differences out.

While watching an Arby's commercial...
Lil'Foo: "What's that on top of his head?"
Me: "That's an Arby's hat because he's thinking Arby's"
Lil'Foo: "No, I think he wants Old McDonalds (meaning McDonalds)"

Well that's it for now. I know I have a lot more to share I just can't think of them right now.

Birthdays

So now that I have a child with a New Years Eve birthday the whole subject of birthday parties has come up. For LilFoo's first 3 birthdays we invited a ton of people to our house and packed them in like sardines. He got tons of presents which wasn't expected or needed but greatly appreciated. Now MiniFoo has just turned one and with her birthday coming right after a slew of holiday events it was very hard to get motivated to do a birthday party.
I started to think about it more and realized that I didn have a huge birthday party every year growing up and it didn't seem to phase me at all. I stared to talk to other people and found out that a lot of people don't do big parties every year for their kids birthdays. With LilFoo we did them because everyone else in our daycare did big parties, which wasn't bad, it was a way for all of us to get together and get to know each other. But now we are in a smaller daycare and parties are a big thing.
So now what I am thinking we will do with the kids is as they get older they can decide what they want to do for their birthday. They can choose to go somewhere and do something with mommy and daddy or when old enough have a sleep over or just have cake and ice cream.

Don't cry over spilled milk

Today I was trying to multi-task and make food while giving Lil'Foo and MiniFoo a snack. Both of them hadn't had a nap so they were very fussy. In my rush to keep them satisfied I grabbed MiniFoo's nubby cup and put some milk in it and gave it to her and went back to trying to get some supper ready. When I came back to check on her there was milk all over her tray and an empty cup sitting on top! I had obviously not put the lid on correctly and now it was all over. I grabbed a towel to clean it up and MiniFoo then decided to splash which threw milk all over. Lil'Foo saw the mess and said....
"Oh no! There is milk all over! My house is ruined!"
How can you stay frantic or mad with a comment like that?!?

Hello Again.....

Sorry to those who actually read my blog. I got caught up in the Holidays and basically dropped of the face of the earth on both of my blogs!
Thanksgiving was good we went down to Iowa to see some family, it has become tradition for everyone to meet at my Grandparents for Thanksgiving. It's always laid back and I think that is why everyone doesn't mind.
Christmas was another story though. Xmas started on Xmas Eve for us and actually hasn't ended yet because there are still a few people saying that they have gifts coming for the kids!!! The kids were smothered with toys and clothes from the loving Grandparents but it is getting too hard to take the kids somewhere else to open gifts. Next year we are having Xmas at our house, even if we don't have a bigger house by then!!
LilFoo has learned that if he is quiet enough that he can sneek food and that is what he did at MamaFoo's house on Xmas Eve. I still don't know exactly how many chocolate truffels he had that night, on top of the chips. MiniFoo was expected to show off her first steps that night too but didn't come through, instead she decided that she would be scared of everyone and cling to Mama and Daddy.
I will have to sit and relax now and think of some of the funny things that LilFoo and MiniFoo have done recently so I can post again soon! :)
Hope everyone had a wonderfull Holiday season!!!
